How Job Resiliens scores your AI exposure
Not a black box, and not a crystal ball. Here's what actually goes into your score, in plain English — including the parts that are still experimental.
What actually drives your score today
Six things factor into how your assessment is built and explained. Three are live scoring inputs, one is a bounded overlay applied only when it's available and reviewed, and two are shown as context because the underlying research isn't far enough along to responsibly turn into a number yet.
Task-level AI exposure
We break your current role down into the individual responsibilities you actually list — not the job title — and match each one against a large, continually-tuned taxonomy of AI-exposure patterns: which tasks are routine and structured (highest exposure), and which require judgment, relationships, or unstructured problem-solving (lowest exposure). Your score is built from this task-by-task read, not a lookup table of "safe" and "unsafe" job titles.
Occupation context
Where your listed tasks are sparse or hard to classify on their own, we blend in a baseline drawn from a much larger body of research on your specific occupation — mostly to stop a thin resume from producing a wildly unstable score. This baseline is always a minority input; your own listed tasks dominate whenever you've described them.
Human differentiation
Not every task is equally hard to automate for the same reason. We separate tasks that are "hard" because they're relationship-driven or trust-based, ones that are "hard" because they require open-ended judgment or leadership, and ones that are physically hands-on — each resists AI differently, and it's the human-differentiated categories, not just "not yet automated," that keep a score lower.
Employer AI-adoption intensity
For some employers, we maintain a researched, human-reviewed read on how aggressively that specific company is adopting AI in ways that would affect your role. Where it exists, it adjusts your displayed score within a deliberately bounded range — it can nudge the number, it can never override what your actual tasks say. This is a pressure signal, not a verdict: a high-adoption employer moving fast on AI doesn't mean your specific job is being cut.
Country AI-adoption environment
We're aware that national context — regulation, labor market structure, how fast AI tools are actually reaching local employers — plausibly affects real-world timelines. We don't yet have research we're confident enough in to turn this into a scoring adjustment, so it is not part of your number today. We'd rather say that plainly than fake precision with a number that isn't backed by anything.
Your skills & adaptability
We show you which of your listed skills read as high-exposure versus durable, so you can see the full picture beyond your current tasks — but this is informational, not a multiplier on the number itself. Two people with identical current-task exposure see the same score today, even if one of them has a much deeper bench of adaptable, durable skills sitting unused. Making adaptability count toward the number itself is on our roadmap, not live yet.
Confidence: not every score is equally precise
A score built from six clearly described responsibilities is more reliable than one built from a job title alone. Wherever you see your score in the product, you'll also see a confidence label — High, Medium, or Low — telling you how much real detail it's actually based on, and what would sharpen it (usually: describe more of what you actually do, not just where you worked).
What this is built to do
The point isn't to hand you a scary number and walk away. Every assessment on Job Resiliens comes with the specific tasks pulling your score up, the ones keeping it down, and a next step sized to what's actually exposed — not a generic "learn AI" line.
